GEOSPATIAL INNOVATION
IS OUR TRADITION
Passing it on for 4 generations

85+ YEARS
MAKING MAPS

Kepping up with technology is a constant challenge, doing it for 4 generations is an accolade.

For more than 85 years, we have kept our geospatial tradition and interest. Thus has made CartoData a well known industry player in the world.

At CartoData we take special pride in our technological advancements, hence we have set an internal metric to innovate every year applying  new technologies to solve world’s problems.

Passing experiences from generation to generation

JUAN ANTONIO AUDIRAC GÁLVEZ

(1891 – 1930)

OUR FiRST MAPS

Antonio developed from his parents a taste for painting which later evolved into drawing the first maps made by the Audirac family, including the first map of the small town of Tezuitlan, Puebla. Among his most distinguished work, he surveyed and registered several national parks including the “Desierto de los Leones” now part of Mexico City’s Metropolitan Area.

HENRI AUDIRAC PADILLA

(1925 – 1995)

OUR FiRST FLIGHTS

In 1961 he was a photogrammetrist that was part of the group of researchers that created the basis for cadastre norms denominated multi-user.

In 1964, after the success with the tests of the photogrammetric essays proposed by himself, he was hired for Guadalajara’s Cadastre Mapping. He was also hired by the OEA to place the norms and census of cadastre by Costa RIca and Ecuador. Ecuador hired him also to make the urban cadastre of the country.

In 1967, Henri lead the first Cadastral survey done by Aerial Photogrammetric methods in the City of Guadalajara which years later would host CartoData’s HQs.

HENRI AUDIRAC LASS

(1952 )

THE BRAINS BEHIND THE SOFTWARE

Graduated from the UNAM as a Civil Engineer and form the Université Laval in Canada as Master in Science and Photogrammetry, Henri has lead the development of in house technology for over 40 years. He took his first steps in the early 80’s with AU2, a CAD system that could be integrated with analytical stereoploting machines in order to make our first digital maps. It would later evolve into AU3 and AU4 the first Digital Photogrammetric Workstations developed in Latinamerica.

Henri currently is the President and chairman of CartoData’s board.

FÉLIX AUDIRAC CHALIFOUR

(1980 )

SMART MAPS

Felix graduated with honors from the ITESM in Computer Systems Engineering and has a Master’s in Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology from the University of Waterloo in Canada. He made his first airborne photogrammetric mission as a camera men with his grandfather at the age of 7 onboard of the XB-BIC still part of the CartoData fleet. He developed the first version of eMapas for the National Forestry Council in 2001 and took a leave of absence for 6 years to gain international experience while working at BlackBerry Ltd being responsible to introduce smartphone technology in several latinamerican markets.

In 2015 he manages the Public Registry and Cadastral Harmonization project in the Municipality of Los Cabos after which he takes the position of Chief Executive Officer (2016). Since then, he has focused his efforts in democratizing the geospatial information generated by CartoData through the use of exponential technologies such as cloud computing, mobile devices, drones, nano-satellites, artificial intelligence and blockchain.
